What is Vulnerability Management?

The ongoing process of finding, prioritizing, and fixing security weaknesses in your systems before attackers exploit them.

Vulnerability Management is the discipline of continuously finding security weaknesses across your systems — operating systems, applications, network devices, cloud configurations — and prioritizing them based on real-world risk. The output is a steady stream of fix-it work, ideally focused on the small fraction of vulnerabilities attackers actually exploit. Vulnerability scanning alone is not vulnerability management: the value is in prioritization, remediation, and verification that fixes worked.
